I did the process from your post and got the following message :

Any clue?
Do I need to remove my current Catalyst software first?

Yes sometime you no need to do reversion of box drivers (original what is it in ubuntu).
But from this version of drivers i not do.
Just try to revert old xorg.conf and try to install again.
